Sustainable Business Networks
SBN is a Kentucky based "network of networks" supporting the development of green and local living economies. SBN is preparing the KY statewide affiliate application with the Business Alliance for Local Living Economies.
Sustainable Business Networks Steering Committee Members (In formation):
The SBN Steering Committee is growing towards an inclusive and diverse representation of SBN affiliate networks state wide. Summer Auerbach is the Vice President for Operations of Rainbow Blossom Natural Foods Store n Louisville, KY, and a Board Member of the Louisville Independent Business Alliance ("Keep Louisville Weird").
Jim Embry is a Lexington, Ky., artist, activist and business person who co-founded the Kentucky based Sustainable Communities Network and SustainLex. Jim is on the national speakers bureau of Yes! magazine, and is the past director of Sustainable Detroit.
Whit Forrester is a co-owner of Hotter Times, a native plants landscaping firm. Whit is the co-chair of the Sustainable Clifton Ecological Working Group and is active in a wide variety of community sustainability, arts and social justice organizations.
Mark Isaacs is the founder of Legacy Development Corporation, a comprehensive architecture and development firm. Mark is a Louisville based architect who has long been involved in the development of green, affordable, energy efficient solar buildings and communities. Most recently his firm designed and built the Legacy Lofts project, which promises "near carbon neutral living" in market rate green buildings.
Cheyenne Olson is a senior administrator at Berea College in Berea, Kentucky, and is the co-founder of the Berea Trading Post and Sustainable Berea.
Stefan Rumancik is the President of Designer/Builder, a sustainable building firm with facilities in Lexington, Danville, and Louisville, Kentucky.
Jim Shields is the President of Commonwealth Computer Recycling and Recycle Louisville! He is active in community sustainability work, and is a Board member of the Kentucky Recycling Association.
David Silverman is the Director of the Adena Center for Sustainability and Communications at Webster University.
